Handcut on single sheet.
i was lucky enough to be a part of Khoj during this residecy.
the whole theme was to expiriment with 'the idea of a book'
well the first two weeks went completly blank and then...
the bain wave happened at the middle of one night.
"How Long? How Far?..tht was it...
The brainwave - was to showcase the evolution of landscape around me as i moved ahead from places to places for education and work, "survival". and the main thing was to show the architectural bombardment in the name of development. i found it like an irony with the meaning of development...The struggle for survival is moving everyone from rural to urban landscapes.
That is why I call this How Long? How Far? ,mainly like a question within myself and to the humanity around, that how long and how far are we going to operate in these spaces in the name of ...
From these thoughts, i began my work on a single scroll beacuse am talking about a continues evolution without boundaries than a page by page formats.......and since i am talking about landscape, the idea was to carve out a landscape from the scroll.... so the concept is from the side view, where its like a pulse recorder. as the artwork moves towards the cityscape, the pulse gets higher and higher...
....and.... some images from the open day...
and some details ....
..........coming soon....>
.............5 weeks of residency and a week before that- a book i made during the end of this residency..................
